Barnacle Goose

Today we went to Pensthorpe Park near Fakenham - it was inland so we could escape the incessant wind at the coast. We arrived at 10 am and had a pre-booked session in the indoor play area for the girls while we sat and had coffee!

After the play and coffee we went into the park, suitably armed with bags of duck food from the reception.

As soon we got in we were mobbed by ducks and geese on the lookout for new arrivals armed with fresh food.

We walked almost four miles around lakes and ponds and even had ducks and geese eating out of our hands. We saw flamingos, storks, cranes and many different types of ducks and geese. There were plenty of cute fluffy chicks around - see extra 1 and little broods of Shelduck chicks huddled together…see extra 2.
