Teton's

Woke up around 5.30 when the sun came through the windows. Decided to get up at 6am and go out to see what all the noise was about, turned out to be Canada geese on the pond outside. There were a few for them and some goslings as well. Managed to get a few photos of them, a deer in the hillside and then saw what I think was a beaver in the river in the hotel grounds. Went over the road to the wetlands and had the mist still on the water with the sun coming over the Teton’s. Met J&A for breakfast and headed out to see what was out there was nearby. Stopped off at Glacial point, Snake river overlook and then Schwabacher landing to take some photos of the Teton’s. Headed into the park to go to Jennie lake for some lunch. Managed to find a nice log to sit on by the lake before heading off for a walk to Hidden Falls. Didn’t quite think it was going to be such a long walk, and certainly wasn’t really expecting to walk over snow to get there. Threatened to rain in the way and by the time we got to the falls it was raining a bit, which wasn’t great for the photos. On the walk back we saw a yellow belly marmot and our first moose on the hillside. Managed to dodge most of the rain and got to the visitors centre and shop just before it shut. Saw a moose sitting down at moose junction on the way back. Stopped off at a liquor store on the way back to get gin, beer and some local whiskey before getting ready to go out for dinner at the Million Dollar Cowboy bar. Nice place and I had a bison steak, but couldn’t really taste the difference between that and normal beef steak. Went into the bar to listen to a local country rock band who were quite good and have a beer. Certainly won’t be getting drunk out here as it was $30 for a shot of whiskey and 2 cans of the local IPA. Walked back to the hotel to get ready for an early start tomorrow.
