Bear 310 and her cubs

Starting to get over the jet lag but still woke up earlier than needed. We were at breakfast for 6am as we were expecting to be collected for a safari tour at 6.30am, turned out it was booked for a 7am start. Had a drive around Teton National Park looking for wildlife. Managed to see some Elk, pronghorn, ground squirrels at the Moran barn while taking photos there, highlight was a black bears bum, by the time we had parked up and gone back it had gone over the hill unfortunately. Came back to the hotel for a bit of rest and to have a bit of lunch before heading out again. Went to the wildlife art / photography museum just down the road to start with and then headed into the park to drive around the main loop there to see what wildlife there was. Stopped off at the church of the Transfiguration to start with as I wanted to take the famous photo out of the back window of the cross and Teton’s in the background. Also had a walk around the house of Mr Meaner, who ran a boat shuttle with his brother, that he hated, who lived on the other side of the river. Stopped off at the visitor’s centre near there and then went back into the park for a drive around. Started to rain while we were out and after seeing a male Elk we headed home. On the way back we ran into our first proper bear jam. Fortunately, we got there not long after the bear was spotted so there weren’t many people around. Started to rain more heavily but we managed to see bear 610 and her 3 cubs. This is the daughter of grizzle bear 399, who is a famous grizzly as she was the first bear to lean that staying by the roads was better for hunting. Managed to get a few nice photos through the rain before we headed home. Walked up town to get dinner in the Roadhouse bar and then had a little walk around town before going back to start packing and get an early night.
