Xbox

After attending a couple of talks this morning, И and I chatted with people in the foyer until it was time to go with a prospective new collaborator to his office at Microsoft Research. He gave us a tour of part of the campus, taking in the small Microsoft Museum. This included one of the very first Xboxes, and on our way out we passed the Xbox research lab. After a good lunch, we chatted for the rest of the afternoon. He seems to be a valuable addition to our team, since what he does for us will be of value to Microsoft, and his skill set sits nicely between mine and И's.

We then took an Uber to the Chihuly Glass Garden at the base of the Space Needle, where we joined A. She'd already been there for a couple of hours, but was happy to go again round the exhibition of huge multi-piece glass sculptures. Despite my choice of photo, I generally preferred the ones that were naturally lit (see extra). Afterwards we ate at an excellent Taiwanese restaurant recommended to us by our Microsoft collaborator.
