I went to the Islanders exhibition at the Fitzwilliam in Cambridge today, it was a great exhibition. On the way out I noticed something interesting which turned out to be a tiny collection of embroidered textiles from the same region covered by Islanders, namely the islands of the eastern Med.

It was very tough to choose just one to blip (getting short of extras now) but I chose this from Crete, made between 1700 and 1820 and is part of the border of a skirt.
Islanders has finished but these are on show for another couple of weeks. Catch it if you can
