Opening

Still warmer. Sunny, cloudy, rain, sunny, around +15.

I had a footwear fitting at noon, once again. Things having custom-made footwear just don't progress. Much need to fixing again, and no hope to have them ready before autumn... or suitable.

Anyway, we got in the allotment in the evening. Some of the time there it rained, not very much, and not enough at all. First we had a cup of coffee for the first time there this year. I watered plants that were in the greatest need of water, blackberry bushes, strawberries, just planted trees and hydrangeas. Mr S watered sprouted vegetables and flowers. Of course we did some weeding too.

Azalea buds have begun open (main picture) and wretched apple ermine (Yponomeuta malinellus) has begun its eating apple leaves in the whole allotment area, also in our tree, as every summer during about ten years (Extra). It's difficult to get rid of it without pesticide, but it's not allowed to use in the area. And most of us wouldn't like to, anyway. You can only collect these "bags" by hand. The insect is not exactly very harmful, but in the worst case, the whole tree will be covered with silk, and there will be no apples.

It begins to feel a little like summer at last :)
