Hengistbury Head

Sizzler of a day but the sea breeze kept me and my Thursday friends cool enough to have a good walk over Hengistbury Head.

Later in the day, I had a most unusual sighting in my flower border - a mole! Fully above ground! He beat a hasty retreat before I could think about how to catch him. So long as he is content with the tunnels he has already burrowed and doesn't feel the need to extend his home, I guess we can coexist peacefully..... I believe they venture above ground only rarely, when the ground is hard and they're struggling to find food.

Thanks very much for everything for yesterday's 'Lupin'!
