Motor Racing Heaven!

Day Two

An early start as the bus picked us up at 8am to take us to Monaco. A nice drive along the coast from Nice, and the views were absolutely stunning.

When we got to Monaco we had a bit of a walk to our suite, and despite what the travel reps saying it wasn't exactly easy to get there. Luckily we didn't have too many problems unlike some of the rest of the group, one chap was wandering around Monaco for 2 hours and a couple in our suite were dropped off by a taxi miles away from where they needed to be.

The suite itself was on the 15th floor of an apartment block, the owner ups and leaves for the weekend and rents their apartment out; he must have made a mint! Anyways the views were amazing from there, with approximately two thirds of the track being able to be seen. We were able to see along the start and finish straight, the St Devotte corner and the climb up towards Casino square and that's where we lost them, they returned into our view from the tunnel and then all along the harbour and past the swimming pool. I think you'll agree that was some view, and far exceeded my expectations!

The noise was incredible, this was motor racing heaven!

I'd never realised what a packed weekend was ahead when I originally booked it, we got the Renault series races, free practice, GP2 race and finally the F1 qualifying. Standing on your feet all day takes it out of you. Lol! By the time we got back to the hotel in the evening it was gone 7pm, so dinner in the other restaurant tonight before another early start in the morning.
