What a heat!

The heat today built and built.. the humidity was intense and then the clouds rolled in.  I have a lightning app so I checked what was coming and boy.. was it coming.. a massive storm building up from the south of London and travelling to Oxford and beyond. As I took this the wind had picked up and the clouds were rolling in there was the sound of thunder crackling in the distance. In came the cushions and the newspaper and all the 'we like it dry' gang and then it came.. hours of refreshing rain and a lot of noise overhead.  Jasper wisely came inside which I was grateful for as otherwise the back porch would have been very wet while keeping the door open. 
We had a very happy evening drinking with friends listening to the rain falling outside and we chewed the fat, catching up on all their news. Lovely.. now home and relaxing and hoping it might be a cooler night.. 20C in the bedroom last night was a bit too warm for me.
