Explosion

The only photos I have to show for the last two days are of bread, so here you go. Yesterday's loaf in extras.

It was raining heavily when we woke this morning. Then it was very hot and steamy. The forecast was for a thunderstorm and heavy rain in the late afternoon, so after lunch we decided we'd take the opportunity to walk down to the garden, neglected for many months. It's looking pretty shaggy but was loud with birdsong. We are still waiting for the advertised thunderstorm.

I normally do bread over two days, leaving it to rise in the fridge overnight and baking it in the morning. It was so hot and humid I decided I might as well bake today's loaf right away, since it was bubbling fit to burst. As it duly did in the oven. We don't actually eat much bread, so we are well supplied now.
