Sunset Beach?

A strange start to the week, thick fog, but warm and humid.  I explored the local coast and Sunset Beach, a strange mix of yellow and black sand from the island’s volcanic history.  Across the beach were what seemed like large numbers small blue transparent bags; on closer inspection, confirmed as jellyfish.  Apparently, these are quite dangerous and would put someone in hospital if stung.

Today’s image is from above the beach.

The morning for L was a short lesson/assessment to match her with the right horses and then in the afternoon the horses were transported to the north of the island near the Batalha golf course.  While the riders headed off I started a walk around the course, ending up with a 3.7 mile route in warm, sunny conditions.  The high position above the north coast gave a feel for the island with many large conical hills dotting the vista.
