The Melting Heat of Summer

A rainbow of flowers from our garden, fartnarkeled for Abstract Thursday interpreting host Ingeborg's theme of 'colourful'.

Another lovely summer's day! Too hot for knitting, so it's been more gardening. Then, we picked up little Miss B from Nursery as her family were in a traffic holdup on the A1. They weren't delayed long. Good thing as we were back an hour later to look after the young master while his parents and LMB paid a visit to the village primary school that she will be attending from next September! They were all impressed and, little though she is, I'm sure she will love it there. The induction days (plural!) are geared towards the new little ones settling in. Apparently, every new child will also get a home-visit before their child starts school. I have mixed feelings about that. On the one hand, it shows great care for the whole child, not just its academic learning, but on the other hand, is it state interference? On balance, I'm OK with it and, in any case, I'm nobbut a granny, not the child's parent.

Had fun looking after 'Baby Bro'. He had fun repeatedly pulling off my sunhat and grinning at me as he nibbled on the brim. We also had a nice walk around his garden, naming flowers' colours, spotting 'birdies' and so on. Doesn't seem five minutes since i was doing that with his big sister.

Now sipping Guinness and Mr PP is whisking up omelettes. Yum! They're his signature dish.
