Life of a bubble maker

Glass sculpture

Walked down to the famous Pike Market to find something for breakfast and ended up in the Crumpet shop. Very nice crumpet with marmite and a cup of coffee, we even got a table by a window so we could watch them being made. Looked up and then noticed that we were sitting opposite a strip club. Had a little wonder around Pike market before walking up to visit the Space Needle. Fantastic building but I’m not great with heights, the view was fantastic but I wasn’t happy going close to the edge. Next floor down was the revolving part with the glass floor, bit happier here as it was inside. Next stop was the Chihuly glass museum which was fantastic. All sculptures made from glass and they were massive. Took the mono rial back downtown and got some lunch at Pike market. Had a look in the T-shirt shop and J went into a map shop before we headed downtown more to do the beneath the streets tour. Seems that Seattle was originally build on the tidal plane, so it flooded twice as day. After a big fire they rebuilt the city in the same place, but the city engineers then decided to raise the height of the streets so built huge stone walls around each city block and the capped them creating the basement under the current street level. Went back to the room and got changed for dinner. Very expensive restaurant and quite nice. Got an Uber back to the hotel as we didn’t fancy walking back through the homeless and drug addicts, we found on the way there.
