And just to be sure the sparrows don't feel left out, I've put out some seed for them.  The seed house is meant to be hung in the tree so they can sit on it's base and eat the seed but I've learnt that they're such messy eaters and have a tendency to spray seed in every direction, the result being that all kinds of random sproutings appear in the garden and lawn over spring.  This year I've attached a large plastic flowerpot 'saucer' to try to limit the seed spray.  We'll see, though I have already noticed there's still plenty on the ground :(
