Sgwarnog: In the Field

Chaser

An afternoon walk was well earned after finishing a seven hour  deadline sprint.

I headed down to the woods and meadows. Meadow Brown butterflies are everywhere now, and Large Skipper are more numerous. Speckled Wood, Green-veined White and a single Common Blue rounded out the butterfly count.

There was plenty of dragon and damselfly activity around Red Brick Dam, but it was at the edge of the woods that I managed to catch this female Broad-bodied Chaser at a more sedate moment.

Later, I spent the evening enjoying Welsh chamber folk trio VRï down at the Caroline Club in Saltaire. This was the last date on their current tour but I’m sure they’ll be around at festivals during the summer. Beautiful music and very friendly guys.
