This is the day

Master of Disguise

There’s been much wildlife activity in the garden today, but my favourite visitor was this fledgling robin. In the top shot he’s hopping around underneath the bird feeders, well camouflaged by the bare earth around the twisted hazel tree trunk.  He also visited the bird bath (which, I’m happy to say, has since been scrubbed thoroughly and filled with fresh water.) Sadly I didn’t get a shot of his front view before he turned to fly away.

We had coffee with a friend in the garden this morning and I’ve done a mountain of dead-heading of roses this afternoon, which is the price I’m paying for my inability to resist buying rose bushes over the years.
