Dog Daisy ( Leucanthemum vulgare )

Saturday so we were prepping the Lodge.  For once I didn't rely on the "walk to the bins" for my blip.  This is one of the flowers in our "wildflower meadow".

Also known as Ox-eye daisy, marguerite and in times past Gowans.  It this time of year many of the road verges are white with these.  Native to Europe they have been naturalised in many parts of the world.  Unopened flowers marinated and used in the same way as capers.  In some parts of the world the druied flowers are used to make a tisane.
