What’s Out There?

I woke up early to a peaceful but rainy scene of horses and cows and green fields at Pencraig Campsite, Holyhead. What a way to start the day!

I just couldn’t resist the call of nature any longer so I had to negotiate the two still sleeping bodies in the van to brave the steady rain to find some relief. At least the toilets here are warm and clean!

After a hearty breakfast cooked by David, and washed up by Kevin, we got ready to go out for the day, wearing sweaters and jackets because it was supposed to be cloudy and cool all day. I wore my walking shoes because we were going to visit the South Stack Lighthouse, which is located on a small island reached via a descent of 400 steps down some steep mainland cliffs.
We did a lot of climbing as we went to the top of the lighthouse!

We rewarded ourselves with some ice cream and a cup of tea (for me) when we got back safely.

The weather by now was sunny and warm! So we went to Trearddur Bay, took shoes and socks off and paddled on the edge of the water.

We picked up dinner from a famous local fish and chips shop - Enoch’s Fish & Chips and took it back to the van to eat.

Now we are relaxing for the evening watching Ted Lasso in the van before bed.
