Boundary Dwellers

Fledged

But flu?

This poor bird was standing quietly, eyes closed, in an exposed bit of one of the beds below the sycamore. No reaction to my presence and only a flicker of a wing when an annoying beetle ran among its feathers.

SSPCA advice is that fledglings can spend a couple of days on the ground being monitored and fed by the adults, but there was neither sight nor sound of any.

1hr 20mins later, dead.
