A day in the life

Rest

When visiting one of my older family menbers om my fathers side, we took a ride to places from our childhood. She’s the daughter of my fathers half-sisters, 87 years old, with an amazingly detailed memory and a fascinating ability to tell stories about our mutual family.
We ended up in this place, hidden under a canopy of old beech-trees. The inscription of the standing stone says: “Welcome wanderer.
Rest here a while
but
have not unmild hands
upon the trees
that
here gives you shade “
The stone is raised in 1812 and the lying rock, peculiarly shaped as a bench or a sofa is perfect for a lie down.
