Kestrel Parent

Parent of the chicks I blipped yesterday - out hunting for food for the fledglings.

I only just got to see the kestrel chicks in time before they fledged. Today they were all lined up on top of the mill roof. Well, four of them were. I was told the very sad news that one of the fledglings had come to an unhappy end in the river. I think it was the one on the left in yesterday's image in my b&w journal. He was still looking quite young with a tuft of white hair on his head. His flying skills just weren't sufficiently developed.

Many thanks for all the great comments, stars and hearts for yesterday's 'Kestrel Chicks'!
