Midsummer Day. Summer Solstice.

Longest day here in our Northern Hemisphere.
We had more really heavy rain yesterday evening and overnight.
When I went to retrieve the trail camera this morning, (having moved it last night), because of the overnight heavy rain, the camera lenses had become mistier as the time went by.
There were the two hedgehogs once again, Harry who is the smaller of the two, and a larger one. But the images were not very clear.
It was however obvious watching them both through the misty curtain, and rain, that a fracas was taking place.
More huffing and the big one trying to push Harry aside.
I don’t think that it will rain tonight, but it has forecast mist around 3:00am, which is not long before one of them usually appears.
Hoping I get some clearer images before then.
He also tends to turn up about 22:30 when it isn’t quite dark.
I managed a walk this morning and the Park was very quiet when we arrived, then sat outside and had a coffee at Blackroot Bistro, before going down to Blackroot Pool, after which we set off and walked back home.
This afternoon I went to visit a friend, who broke her kneecap a few weeks ago. Her leg is in plaster and she has to keep it straight,
She and her husband used to live a few doors away from us, until they moved into a beautiful retirement apartment. Sadly he died a few years ago
She has always been a very fit and active person, belonging to local walking groups and has done Pilates for years. (I’ve met her Pilates teacher, who pronounced her a legend!) At 81, she doesn’t look her age at all.
Once the plaster cast comes off, she is looking forward to being able to join her groups again.
It was such a silly accident she will say!
We enjoyed a good chat and catch up.
