Bath time

This silly blue jay was having a great time in the bird bath even though it rained enough last night for all the birds to find a nice puddle to swim!      He stayed around for about five minutes!    A big smile for me today!!

The rain late yesterday was like a monsoon!   The little town of Leesville a few miles away (which is where one of our favorite restaurants is located) was flooded...even the restaurant.   There were photos of water standing calf high from inside the restaurant and the water was up to the bottom of the windows on the take side.   Looked like a river was running though the main street.     Some roads were closed even today because a portion got washed out from all the rain.   This was on top of all the rain we had this week...at least 5 inches and probably 5 inches fell on Thursday.   

The good thing about small towns was the people gathered at the restaurant to mop and clean after the storm working into the night so  today they opened for business as usual!!   

I happened to look out toward the end of the storm when I noticed a bit of sunshine to the west...those photos are in the extras.   It was still raining hard but not as it had been but that sunshine....swoon worthy even though the photos are not the best as I just grabbed the phone and shot through the window.  But you can see the show that was happening! 

It rained again today for about an hour.   Worried my tomatoes might be too wet and start rotting but sunny and hot for the weekend and most of next week....unless that tropical storm Cindy comes this way.  Hurricane season is already happening!
