Leader of the Pack

Like the first cuckoo, there's a race to photograph the first sunflower of the summer. When I arrived at the beginning of the week I though they were potatoes in the fields. But after a few days of sunshine the first pathfinders started to poke their heads above the others. This one has even got its own pet grasshopper on the top petal.

So here is my "first cuckoo in spring" contribution.
