Harvester

We heard the combine harvester clinking away in the distance before we spotted it across the valley. It was invevitable that the harvesting would start today. Everything is ripe and baked. I stood on the top of the hill just a little way from our cottage to take this view of the fields as walking down  to get a little closer is simply too hot today (it's 38C as I write).  Nowadays thankfully, modern combine harvesters have air conditioning in the driver's cab.  By the end of the week, if not sooner, all the wheat will be done.
