Plans

Only a few weeks until we pack the camper van and catch the ferry to Santander for our trip to France (and Spain). I booked the ferry a while back and I'd normally have had these plans sorted long ago but there have been other things taking precedence until now. So today's the planning day.

Taking a ferry across the Bay of Biscay to northern Spain will cut a huge distance off the road travel. We'll have a wander through Basque country and make our first stop at the little harbour town of Mutriku. We won't be booking campsites, it's not likely to be a problem, so we'll stay there a few days if we like it and then move on over the border to Aquitaine in France. After that we'll head east to Carcassonne. We made a quick stop there once before but didn't camp so we're doing it again.

Next will probably be a stay with Marian's sister at Apt, near Avignon but it's all a bit speculative now and depends on what they're doing. The Luberon is a lovely part of France and there's plenty to see and do there. The only part of the return journey I've planned is a stop at Nimes.

I love doing this planning, suddenly the ideas take on form and increase the anticipation and the desire to get away.

I hope your plans are all working out!

David
