Independence Day

The US Consulate in Edinburgh very kindly invited me to join an (early) Independence Day party they held for people they work with in Edinburgh.  Rather randomly, it was held at CyclopsJnr's rugby club in Stockbridge.  They had brought an enormous Stars and Stripes with them for the occasion.

The Consul General (Jack Hillmeyer) and Scottish Cabinet Secretary for Constitution, External Affairs and Culture (Angus Robertson MSP) welcomed us to the event (see extras) which invited us to wear the colours of our favourite US sports team!  I wore a Red Sox T-Shirt and cap from my days in Boston - Angus Robertson only managed a Scotland strip!
