Cockermouth

This is a back Blip as the ones I took today were not that good.  This photo shows the rivers Cocker (on the left) meeting the Derwent the water is higher then that it is today, but during Storm Desmond it was a completely different 'kettle of fish.'  Water rose so high, overflowed its banks, flooded Main Street and water overflowed a a bridge called Gote Bridge.  For all intents and purposes Cockermouth was cut off, on national news and took years to get back to normal.  The photo shows a find day.
For this weekend Cockermouth 'Goes Live' with drama, music poetry and the forecast looks like rain which I hope doesn't spoil the occasion and definitely not a repeat of Storm Desmond.
Have a great weekend everybody.
