An ordinary life....

Blooming lovely...

After our epic thirteen hour journey yesterday we both had a lie in.  We had a wonderful holiday but it always feels good to wake up in my own bed.

D took Lola her morning walk and I made it downstairs in time for lunch!

After lunch we went outside to check the garden.  It has sprouted in the two weeks we've been away, especially the tubs!  So glad the lilies are still in bloom.  I've been waiting for them.  And the lavender has recovered and smells divine.  Sadly the peonies in the back garden have bloomed but wind and one of the heavy rainfalls has removed most of the petals, so have missed those this year.

The garden people are coming on Monday to plant the areas we cleared out last summer so took some before photos of those areas as the before shots.  Looking forward to seeing that job completed.  Lots of dead-heading to be done but that's a job for later in the week as wanted to get all the stuff David had unpacked put away.  It's as if we've never been away.

Agnes and Adrian are coming up tomorrow so Tesco order done.  We were supposed to have a BBQ but the weather to too windy, showery and cool so an easy dinner of homemade mackerel pate followed by pizza, chicken drumsticks and salad.  Strawberries and cream for dessert.

Now watching the end of the Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz film Knight and Day.  What a pile of manure.
