Inuit Singer

Today we are visiting the capital of Greenland, Nuuk.  As a surprise treat for all the people who have traveled aboard from Pole to Pole, a special luncheon was put on for us at a local restaurant, featuring some traditional Inuit specialties as well as more "normal" food.

As you can see from the extra, whale blubber was one of the choices available ... I didn't partake.

After the meal, an Inuit lady came and sang some traditional songs, accompanied by her hand-held drum.  She had a beautiful and powerful voice, and an amazingly mobile face which, as you can see, was also rather startling to look at!
