Fulmar

We began our holiday in Shetland today. Over the next 8 days we will be guided by experts around all the best wildlife watching locations of the islands.

We set off very early this morning, flying from Birmingham to Aberdeen and then on to Sumburgh Airport at the southern tip of Shetland. This gave us an extra afternoon to start exploring. On a short walk on the coastal path at Sumburgh we saw many fulmars. They are very common here, and are one of the few seabirds to be increasing in numbers at the moment.
