It's a Nice Day for a Devonshire Wedding

And now for the main event.

We were a few of the many special guests that were invited to attend John & Emma's Wedding day. It was a beautiful, warm & sunny day, & just perfect for a typical Devonshire wedding.

A number of the guests travelled from the field (yes field! - more on that later), from where the reception will be held, via coach to the Church of St Mary the Virgin in the village of Buckland St Mary. It was a lovely church & one I would happily have blipped as one of many alternate shots for the day. It was a nice service & an ideal setting.

The guests then made their way to the venue of the reception, John & Emma's field in Orway, a recent acquisition from John's parents & the future home of Emma's horse. It has fantastic views of the local countryside. A huge white marquee had been given pride of place, there in the Wedding Breakfast & the evening doo would unfold. On arrival we were thankfully plied with copious amounts of Pimms & canapés - wedding's make for thirsty & hungry work - so we may have indulged in one or four glasses, by way of a refresher, & more than a few mouthfuls.

We had a fantastic meal & enjoyed the day with some lovely people. It really was a stunning day, we were very lucky with some amazing weather, & it was a pleasure to share in the beautiful couple's special day.

There was of course even time for a boogie on the dance floor to a brilliant live band, a few more little extra drinkies & a hog roast to top it off before the night was over.

A great day.
