On Some Days

Came So Far For Beauty . . . Jennifer Warnes

We were lined up on the wharf waiting to drive onto the Ferry at 5.30 am.  It didn't seem early because there is very little difference to the amount of light in day time or what should be night time.  The crew must be good at Tetris  because they packed the different types of vehicles into the small car deck.  I had to squeeze out of my door and breathe in to get behind the big RV's.  The ferry had comfy seats and big windows.  I spent most of the time walking from the one side to the other taking photos.  We did pass sea lions and otters but at a great distance.  It is a five an half hour trip and sea was calm and the weather improved as the morning wore on.  We passed several glaciers like this.  The extra is because salmon fishing was happening and the forester counted seventy five boats of varying sizes concentrated in one location.  It was a scenic trip.
