One daze at a time...

The check-in ritual

After much fretting, racing to the airport hours before the departure time, checking the tickets/passports/departure gate/check-in counter, printouts of itinerary, rechecking of the tickets/passports/departure gate/check-in counter, printouts of itinerary, Nana finally proceeded to the balancing of the bags, weighing them in turn, taking a pair of sandals out of a checked back to transfer them to the hand luggage, swapping 1.2kg of wild boar saucisson in one for 700g of baby clothes in the other, calculating the number of cubic centimetres available for some duty free shopping, while checking one last time the tickets/passports/departure gate/check-in counter, printouts of itinerary.

The end of one those rare enjoyable big family gatherings.

Contrarily to what he had declared before leaving Raheny, Luca loved all of it, and was overall a great little travel companion.
