Now, as I see it......

Bus stop

Another beach day today, and again we got Georgio's small taxi boat over.  A hot day but with quite a lively breeze so with that and frequent sea dips, we were able to stay cool.

This evening we walked down the Kali Strata to the harbour for our evening drink and meal.  Everywhere seems very quiet at the moment; not many tourists and not even many locals out, considering it is a Friday night.  It's noticeable that there aren't many British tourists here at the moment and those that are here tend to be like us; a bit older and probably frequent visitors (some we know are frequent visitors as we have seen them here many times before).  There used to be one or two specialist companies who came here including Laskarina, the company we first used but which folded after the owner died, and they marketed the island and tried to bring people over.  Nowadays, the only UK tour operator simply has it as a resort of Rhodes and other than using a few holiday properties has no presence on the island.  We use them but would be quite happy to travel independently; the only advantage of the 'package' is that they arrange transport from the airport to the ferry and if the plane is late it's their responsibility to find overnight accommodation for you on Rhodes if you miss the ferry.

But enough rambling.  This was the view as we waited at the bus stop for the 10pm bus back up the hill to the village.  Not bad for a bus stop view.
