Now, as I see it......

A horse with no name

Firstly, many thanks for all the birthday wishes yesterday; all very much appreciated.  We had a good evening last night to celebrate.  Maybe entering my 8th decade isn't so bad after all!

Unless we walk straight down to the beach, wherever else we go involves walking along this street to and from the apartment.  This horse appeared there yesterday evening and was still there this morning.  It will be a working horse rather than someone's pet, probably part of the team that take building materials up to the parts of the village no vehicle can reach.  It's in the owner's interest to make sure they are healthy enough for the job but I suspect it stops there.  This one certainly looked as though it could do with a good meal.

Doing alternate days at the beach has worked well this holiday.  We head home on Wednesday so tomorrow will be our last beach day and today we wandered down to the harbour for some shopping to bring home.  A bottle of Metaxa, as I find the 5* difficult to source in the UK, some local honey that is lovely, and a couple of other things.  A salad lunch in a Taverna run by a friend and then back to the apartment to read.  We'll eat up in the old town tonight at Zoe's, another favourite.

I've added a couple of extras; a view from the steps down to the harbour this morning when we took a slightly different route, and litter Symi-style; a pile of Bougainvillea petals that have collected on the steps.
