A view from St Swithin

Loch Leven

Today we drove to Kinross and had a walk along Loch Leven. The weather was hot and humid, but the walking was flat and pleasant. It’s a great place for birders and the cycle all round the loch (about 12 miles) is popular.
Boat trips were taking folk out to Loch Leven Castle on one of the islands and these seemed popular. Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned in the castle in 1567 but managed to escape after a year with the help of her jailer.
We drove round to Loch Leven larder for a late lunch which gives a good view of the Loch (extra). I got the Chief to drive home as the Ashes match was coming to an exciting conclusion. England eventually squeezed home to win the third test.
