Tiny cones

This Japanese black pine is the first of N’s evergreen bonsais to develop cones and these are a particularly attractive black-purple colour. To give an idea of the size of the tree, I’ve added an extra of the whole tree 8n its pot. It was only later when I checked the photos that I saw that Bertie had been keeping an eye on what I was doing.
It was strange weather, sunny with quite a strong, very warm wind blowing.  Bertie and I had an agility lesson in the early afternoon, along with Daisy, Bertie’s favourite long-legged golden doodle. It was great fun but both Bertie and I were ready for a lie down in the shade to help us recover afterwards.
