Servicing The Singer

Pat’s sewing machine suddenly stopped. It has been worked a lot recently, but it is a ‘professional’ machine albeit some 70 years old.

70 year old sewing machines come with a full service manual and Pat soon diagnosed the problem. It was a loose screw about 3mm long. Of course the screw decided to make a run for it and jumped to the floor.

Finding it took some effort, however it is finally discovered about 2 metres away from the machine underneath a shelving unit.

Pat soon put the machine back together after servicing all the moving parts. It is now as good as new.

Well it is a Singer Sewing machine built in Clydebank, Scotland.
