Bluethroat

I've been seeking a really good chance to photograph a Bluethroat (Luscinia svecica) for some time, and it finally came. This male was moving around and singing in a cluster of bushes, and he was not shy. I took over 200 hundred shots, and although I did not get one showing a clear view of his rainbow-like chest (see the Wiki page), I'm very happy with this one.

We're about an hour north of Funasdalen, on a broad plateau crossed by the highest road in Sweden. Other good birds we saw were willow grouse, long-tailed duck, long tailed skua (jaeger), osprey, red-necked phalarope, and ruff (5 males displaying). It rained a fair amount during the day, at times quite heavily, but we managed through it; our encounter with the bluethroat was during one of the dryer periods.
