Castle Howard, York Chocolate History

Graham has taken it upon himself to do a bit of research into the attractions of York, and he struck a gem today. We headed out to Castle Howard (about 30 mins away) which proved to be one of the grandest and loveliest houses we have seen this trip, not to mention the gardens. The house itself is set in a beautifully picturesque location, which has clearly been enhanced over the past centuries. The result is a house that is richly and tastefully decorated, overlooking beautiful views and adorned with art and ornate furniture. The kids didn’t mind the adventure playground either! Following this we went back to York for the history of chocolate tour which I think we all enjoyed. We are off tomorrow but hope to do a quick tour of the Archbishop of Yorks palace which is located down the river (and you can see in previous blips) before we head off in the morning.
