The cathedral of the Thames Valley

This is St James Church, Weybridge, which was built in 1846 - 1848. There has been a church on this site since the 12th century. I don't know why a new one was needed in the mid-19th century but, having attended a funeral there a couple of years ago, I know it is very spacious and, as the photo, shows, boasts a most impressive spire. Apparently it is that feature which has led to it being  referred to as the cathedral of the Thames Valley. We were in Weybridge to buy a new television from Richer Sounds as our current set has developed a vertical shadow which is irritating and probably a portent of worse to come. We have tried the suggested fixes online without success. We were given the set by a friend of my daughter, who didn't need it anymore, so we can't complain, especially as it made us, at last, move on from the huge TV we had before and enter  the age of the smart television.
