A butterfly walk

We both slept so well last night after our long drive yesterday. When I woke up there was low cloud over the mountain peaks and it was dull, but it soon cleared up and turned into a very hot and sunny day.

After breakfast we went to the supermarket to get groceries - I do keep basics and some long life oat milk in the apartment so we were able to eat breakfast, but I needed to stock up. I love the summers here as it is much quieter than the winter season - many people come here to walk and also its popular with young families as the village offers much for them to do, it has a fantastic playground area, a village swimming pool consisting of various types of pools, tennis courts, bike park and many more activities.

Once we unpacked the groceries we went for a walk, I call it my butterfly walk as the path runs alongside a stream and there are usually so many butterflies there. There were butterflies but not as many as I have seen previously. I think this is a fritillary but not sure which one, possibly a small pearl bordered fritillary? Some clever clogs here on blip will probably know what it is. We walked upstream and arrived at Grüenbödeli outdoor cafe and decided to have lunch there. Fifteen years ago it used to be a place you could buy a cold drink and snack, they never had hot water so could not even serve tea. Now it does wonderful BBQ food and has a band playing every Sunday. There were people dancing (Swiss style) and the band were rather good, playing a mix of Swiss songs and English oldies. I had a chicken salad and Gavin had a burger, and then we walked back down to the apartment.

Later we had another walk into the village as Gavin wanted to check on the tennis. Klosters always hosts the European Under 18 championships every year, it is where the future stars can be seen. We watched a bit then came home and Gavin is now watching the Wimbledon Men's Final and I have half an eye on it. We are both hoping that Alcaraz wins!

Back home, Tommy is looking after things at home. Tonight he, Inca and a friend are going the The Proms which will be great. They got those cheap standing tickets which is an affordable way for everyone to enjoy The Proms.
