Our last day in Auckland

This is a very late posting.

I had a good sleep last night, although I still feel tired - must be the jet lag!  I managed to get a load of washing out on the line then we drove to Penrose where we checked out a new bed for our second guest bedroom (we’re upsizing).  As it’s probably not going to get used a lot we decided there’s no point in spending a lot of money, so the beds and mattresses we saw fitted the bill - comfortable but not at a huge cost.  We duly ordered and paid for our selection, which will be delivered sometime after we move in.  We also went to look at bedside tables, but decided we’ll leave those until after we’ve moved in.  Our next purchase was a new pair of Allbirds walking shoes for MrMacD.  They were on special and will wait in the wardrobe until the current pair wear out.  The only Allbirds shop is in Auckland so if you need to try on the shoes to make sure you’ve got the correct size, it’s the only option.  We drove home to find two of my sister’s grandchildren there.  Their parents are going to a wedding, so grandma and grandpa are on duty, which they love.  It was fun having the children there, they’re great little kids.  I did some ironing, packed our bags and gathered together all the stuff we need to pack into the car in the morning.

After the children went to bed the four of us had dinner, watched a couple of episodes of Friday Night Dinner, then had an early night.

The two buildings in the blip have recently been renovated. They’re on Customs Street in Central Auckland.
