Far Side

White flowers of the elderberry glisten in the evening sun on the far side of the inlet. Seen through an opening between flowing strands of willow on one side and dark maple leaves the other. The inlet itself almost hidden by the tall prairie plants and in any event depleted by lack of water.

Hints of colour from pink milkweed flower and blue vervain and, probably not visible on blip, a song sparrow sits on the top centre flower.

A warm wind gusted, it was so comfortable just being, I could have stayed out much longer, but guests were arriving soon.
