Quod oculus meus videt

New Lodger

For the first time we have a collared dove, nesting in one of the garden's trees.  The nest is a rickety affair but despite the winds we've had in recent days, she remains there resolutely incubating the egg(s?).

While southern Europe swelters we sit on the other side of the jet stream with regular rain and showers coming in from the Atlantic.  Hopefully we will get some better weather soon.  This day last year we were up at the stables trying to keep Meg cool in the blistering heat.  The only thing predictable about the weather these days is its unpredictability!
