Jim Clark Reivers Rally 2013

It's been three years since the last time we were at the Jim Clark. As we were beagle puppy free this year we decided to head up to Duns to watch the Reivers rally.

The Jim Clark Rally is "the only closed road rally in the UK mainland."
There are 4 "modules" to the main Jim Clark Rally;

Main - (330 miles) Licence required - National A
Championship- British Rally Championship

National - (257 miles) Licence required - National B
Championships - MSA Tarmac, NETRC

Challenge - (220 miles) Licence required - National B
Championship - BRC Challenge

Historic - (257 miles) Licence required - National B
Championships - BHRC , NHRC

These run on the Friday & Saturday. Then on Sunday, the Reivers rally takes to the road.... 141 miles of them!

Licence required - National B
Championships - SRC, Borders Rally Championship, STRC, SG Petch

We started the day watching both runs of Bothwell stage up in the farmyard. Then we moved to the Blackadder stage. Where we ended up for the last stage was no where near as good as the first 2, but you really did get to see how fast the top ones were on the clean tarmac. Euan Thorburn was leading all day, only to end second on the last stage as he had mechanical issues. This meant that David Bogie took the win.

Above is Kieran O'Kane and John Frew who finished 38th O/A in the Opel Ascona 400 (Good number plate too!!)

Things always look better large..
