Young blackbird

I started work this morning and found this young blackbird sitting in the tree outside my window. It stayed on the same branch for a good 15 minutes, preening and looking very hot. Young birds don't seem to be as imaginative as the older ones in terms of where they can go. 

Later I went to empty the washing machine and found a grasshopper sitting on the door of the drum!
