Wallpaper

I visited Chiswick House today and saw this blue velvet wallpaper from Lord Burlington’s study. The house is an odd place; it was built to house an art collection rather than to be lived in, but the best of the collection ended up in Chatsworth House, and the buildings where the family lived have all been torn down. It was the first Palladian building in the UK and looks like it should be in northern Italy.
