Checking out the Fiddleneck (Purple Tansy)

My son, grandchildren, and I, with the dogs of course, went for a walk on Skene Estate today. It was cloudy, but stayed dry, thankfully.
Skene House, in Extras, was built in the 13th century, with more building added in the 16th century. It was was one of the first Castles of Mar to be built. It’s still lived in today.
Also in Extras, Jessica with Geordie, some Golden Chanterelle mushrooms we found in the wood. There were lots. I wish we’d picked some. And some colourful bee hives we spotted in the woods.
The rest of the day we’ve played games; drafts, Guess who, Pictionary, and my grandson and I had competitions racing cars on the X-box.
A very full, busy, fun day.
